6.5. Seed treatment of beans and Phacelia at Krefeld (D)

Agricultural areas and seeds can also be treated with resonance therapy. The treatment results in stronger plants, better quality and higher yields.

Trials were carried out by Berthold Leendertz in 1986 and 1989 in Krefeld-Traar.

Berthold Leendertz was, at this time, Chairman of the Testing Committee for Biodynamic Agriculture of the Chamber of Agriculture, Rheinland, Auweiler and Chairman of the Association of Fruit Growers in the Rhine Province.

6.5.1. Experiment 1986

A homogeneous field with considerable residues of Atrazin was sown with beans because as legumes they react particularly sensitively to the herbicide. Half of the field was treated during a vegatation period.

Results

Report Berthold Leendertz, March 1988

Five weeks after sowing it was evident that the beans in the treated area were bushier and higher than in the untreated area. Whereas the rows in the treated area closed up completely, the ground between the rows in the untreated section remained visible.

We harvested 53 kg of beans from the untreated and 73 kg from the treated area. We carried out taste tests with 20 people. The blind test showed obvious results: the treated beans tasted more aromatic and sweater, were not so stringy and had a brighter colour.

In autumn the two areas were mulched and then planted with Taxus baccata L. V. In spring 1987 it turned out that the treated plants were growing more strong. My measurement in August 1987 showed that the plants in the previously treated area were 20% longer than the others. I attribute this greater vitality to a long-term effect from the previous years treatment.

6.5.2. Experiment 1989

Pot trials were carried out with beans and Phacelia as follows:

Pretreated seed

The seeds were treated via a photo of the seed in its container. The treatment lasted eight weeks and ended with sowing. These are called pretreated seeds.

Pretreated and pot-treated seeds

It is also possible to "post-treat" the pretreated seeds. The seeds are treated during the vegetation period via a photo of the soil with the sown seeds.

Berthold Leendertz was in charge of the trial (three variations and five repetitions) and subsequent care. The Department of Ecological Agriculture, Wageningen University, compiled the statistical analysis of the data.
